The sun was shining on my face when I opened the eyes, a marked contrast to the grey skies that had lasted for days. I was determined to go for a walk, such a glorious winter day should not be wasted. It was the Saturday morning a couple weeks ago.
I urged the boys to put their winter coats and boots on. No playing games, no cuddling up together in the sofa watching the animated films, no compromise.
There is a small cafe about 10 – 15 minutes walk from my home, located just beside the underground station. I managed to get to the satiation in 4 – 5 minutes once though, or twice? Running like crazy as I did not want to be late for a seminar, or was it a yoga class? Yes a yoga class. Sounds a bit ironic I know. But I did manage to look calm and composed when I entered the class. Smiling while the heart beating fast. The mind settled down almost immediately when the body was lying on the yoga mat, a dreamy state. It felt like it though. They call it meditation, sort of.
I know I am on the sidetrack, turning back now. We reached the cafe, the boys got the blue raspberry slush and ice cream as promised though I think hot chocolate must be a more appropriate alternative in this season. I got my tea and had a short talk with the woman who works there. A lovely Polish young woman who has become a friend of mine.
We had a much longer conversation around this time last year when I was eager to work out the chance of becoming a co-owner of this small cosy cafe. I have always dreamt about running a cafe, a small one near the sea. And then watching the sun going up and down becomes part of the daily routine. I would love it. Santorini, Crete, Tenerife make excellent destinations.

I picked up a few children’s books from the shelf and read for the youngest, who seemed to be lost in the fairy tales with the special effect I created for him. I am good at making dramatic and sometimes scary voices.
I like the idea of Little Free Library (outside the cafe) where you can pick up or give a book. I picked up a book long ago but have never given one back. Have now put it on my “to do list”.
This is a rather random post and I hope you do not get too bored. I actually had to pause several times before coming to an end because of my backache. Just returned home from an appointment with the chiropractor who showed me some tricks. Hope it works though, scared to death. Thought I would get cracked by the tremendous force from a heavily built man (my chiropractor) of about 2.0 meter tall. Heading off to bed now.
Thank you for reading and take care.
